On Friday, April 08, Intel announced its plan to make a distributed ledger available to a wide variety of industries.  This is clearly aimed at accelerating adoption and ease of implementation of this game-changing technology. Their Sawtooth Lake platform is still in its early stages, but it points to the increasing interest in leveraging block-chain as an enabling technology of the digital economy.

Open ledgers will be the key to enable reliable and secure exchange of goods and services such as those that will be required with distributed energy generation.
