Introducing Our 2014 Summer Interns

  • Posted by Brian Fino

We at Fino recently welcomed seven applicants to our summer internship program, which will run from June 2 through August 10. Together, the intern class will make up a cross-functional team including one product manager, one UX designer, one data scientist, and four software engineers.

This internship provides real-world work experience for the team. They will be working within our culture of rich collaboration, which has been proven to drive innovation and learning.

Solving Real Problems by Creating Real Products

The 2014 summer intern team will be presented with a set of real market problems and will work together to determine which one to solve. Once the team decides on its project and presents the proposed solution, it will work within an Agile framework to build real software that meets the market need.

Fino employees will give guidance during the summer and help the intern class iterate its solutions. The project will then be deployed for real-world testing, and users will provide feedback throughout the summer. At the end of the internship, the team will present and demonstrate its completed product and provide a roadmap for a second version.

While 80% of the team’s time will be spent on this new product, the remainder of the internship will be focused on learning how the Fino team operates and how it delivers business technology solutions for its customers.

We are excited to bring our interns into our organization and make them part of our team. We expect they’ll guide us with their creativity as much as we’ll guide them with strategizing.

You can read more about this dynamic group and the work everyone will be doing in our press release, in which you’ll also find insights from across Fino on unusual interview tactics that can make a strong impression.
